Bhoomi Forest & Nature School.

Bhoomi FNS is a nurturing space where children are encouraged to explore, take healthy risks, connect with nature, and grow through hands-on experiences that celebrate the wonder of childhood.

Our Core Values

At Bhoomi Forest and Nature School, we value respectful and meaningful relationships with children, families, community, and the Land. We believe children are capable, competent, and curious individuals who thrive through child-led exploration, inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and play-based experiences in nature. Our program is grounded in inclusion, belonging, reciprocity, and environmental stewardship, while supporting ethical risk-taking, reflection, creativity, lifelong learning, and collaborative community engagement. We are committed to creating a learning environment that nurtures resilience, encourages problem-solving and independent thinking, and fosters a deep sense of responsibility toward both people and the natural world.

Vision Statement

Bhoomi Forest and Nature School envisions a future where children develop deep, meaningful, and lasting relationships with the natural world through immersive outdoor experiences rooted in play, inquiry, exploration, and community. We believe that by nurturing children’s connection to the land from an early age, we are helping raise a generation that will learn to care for, advocate for, respect, and honour the environment and all living beings within it.

Our vision is to create a learning environment where children are empowered to think critically, ask questions, solve problems, take healthy risks, and engage in inquiry-based learning through direct experiences in nature. Through respectful relationships, environmental stewardship, creativity, and collaborative learning, we aim to support children in becoming resilient, compassionate, and environmentally conscious individuals who not only understand their impact on the world around them, but who also think long-term about how their actions, choices, and behaviours can positively contribute to the future of their communities, ecosystems, and generations to come.

Mission Statement

Bhoomi Forest and Nature School is committed to providing meaningful outdoor learning experiences that foster children’s connection to nature, community, and self through play-based, inquiry-driven, and land-based education. Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where children are encouraged to explore freely, think critically, ask questions, solve problems, and take healthy risks while developing confidence, resilience, and environmental awareness.

Through child-led exploration, collaborative learning, and respectful relationships with the land, we aim to nurture a generation of individuals who value stewardship, reciprocity, and sustainability. Bhoomi strives to inspire children to not only benefit personally from their experiences in nature, but to also understand their responsibility in caring for and advocating for the natural world and the wellbeing of future generations.

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge the traditional territories of Indigenous peoples and their enduring commitment to the stewardship of this Land. We specifically honour the Haudenosaunee, Huron-Wendat, Anishnawbe, Seneca, Chippewa, and the Mississaugas of the Credit peoples, who have cared for this Land since time immemorial.

We recognize nature as both autonomous and Indigenous—a sovereign force that moves in its own rhythm. The rivers, the trees, the wind, and the soil carry teachings of balance, interconnection, and respect.

We honour the circle of communities—North, South, East, and West—and the responsibilities that come with them. In the spirit of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum, we share in the duty to ensure the dish is never empty and to restore relationships grounded in peace, friendship, and trust.

We remain committed to reconciliation, to meaningful partnership, and to a deeper understanding of the Land and the Peoples who continue to protect it.
